MARTIN COUNTY, IND.: A Martin County man on home detention for a possession
of child pornography conviction is facing new charges after authorities
found “an extensive amount of suspected child pornography” at his
residence. But the story doesn’t end there.
He was also found to be in possession of stolen government ammunition as
well as elephant ivory.
Dubois County Community Corrections officials were conducting a home check
on Timothy L. Guy, 73, of rural Loogootee when they made the discovery. The
Martin County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police were called in
to assist with an investigation.
During a search of the residence, numerous printed child porn photos were
located. A “large number” of electronic storage devices suspected of
containing child pornography images were also found, according to Indiana
State Police. In total, more than 800 DVDS and at least 80 thumb drives,
hard drives and other electronic devices were found.
Guy was also found to be in possession of numerous pieces of ivory, some of
which were suspected by the DNR to be illegal to possess.
Guy was arrested and transported to the Martin County Jail.
State police reported that during an interview, Guy said he possessed
possibly a quarter-million images of child pornography on these devices.
Guy also admitted to possession of ammunition that he had stolen from Crane
Naval Base during his previous employment as an ammunition and explosive
handler.
A search warrant served on Guy’s property resulted in the discovery of a
large amount of suspected stolen government ammunition and more pieces of
ivory and electronic storage devices.
Guy is currently being charged with three counts of felony possession of
child pornography. More charges are possible as the case is still under
investigation.
