Elephant released into Mudumalai Tiger Reserve area (Udhagamandalam) Outlook India April 8, 2021 A 15-year old elephant, which was captured near Krishnagiri, was released safely into Asuvaramattam in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) in the hilly Nilgiris district in the early hours of Thursday. The male elephant was creating problems in and around Krishnagiri for the last few days in search of water, was captured some 48 hours ago and ordered to be released in the deep area of MTR. The elephant appeared to be docile and is being continuously monitored for his movements with a team, Forest department sources said.
