An elephant carcass was seen floating in the floodwaters of the Kumaradhara River in Subrahmanya late Monday night. Due to continuous rainfall, the Kumaradhara River is overflowing. On Monday night, Manmatha Batthodi and others went to observe the water levels when they noticed something floating in the floodwaters. Upon closer inspection, they realized it was an elephant carcass. It is suspected that the elephant had died a few days earlier and was swept to this location by the floodwaters. The carcass has not been found yet. The forest department is making efforts to locate the elephant carcass. The high water levels in the river are hindering the search.
