Incidents of man-elephant conflict in the Brogjuli area of Goalpara district in Assam have become common. In one such incident, a wild elephant was seen running after people when they attempted to chase the pachyderm from a residential area in Goalpara on Tuesday evening. According to locals, a herd of around 40 wild elephants from a nearby jungle took shelter here in search of food and damaged paddy crops, news agency ANI reported. Moments captured from the video show a herd of elephants in the farmland near the forest. Soon after, one of the elephants attempts to chase off the people close to it. Several incidents of tussles between the wild elephants and villagers have been reported in the region.
