Prompt action by the Forest department officials saved the life of a female elephant in Odisha today. The elephant, aged around 15 years, fell into an open well near Kaudiapalli village under Badmal forest range at around 5 am in the morning, sources said. The incident took place when a herd of elephants was passing through the village in the wee hours. On being informed, the officials of the Forest department reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
