Late last night, during an ongoing operation near Kulukuta village, the situation took a tragic turn. The elephant, already agitated from earlier encounters, returned with more aggression. In a shocking display of force, the elephant grabbed 45-year-old Gobinda with its trunk and violently slammed him to the ground in front of witness. Though the forest officials shifted him to Bonai Hospital but despite their efforts, the doctor declared Gobinda dead on arrival.
