Elephant calf electrocuted in Bandipur (Mysuru) The Times of India November 27, 2024 A three-year-old male elephant calf died after coming in contact with a live wire in Jakkahalli Hobli under the Kundukere range of Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Chamarajanagar district. The forest department registered cases against four people in connection with the incident with the Gundlupet police under the Electricity Act and Wildlife Protection Act. According to forest authorities, the incident was reported on Tuesday. The calf died after encountering the illegal electric connection provided to a farm. The calf was found dead inside the farm. According to the sources, the farm belongs to a Koramangala resident in Bengaluru, Sheriyar Khan alias SR Khan.
