Elephant dies due to electrocution Times of India March 13, 2025 A wild elephant died due to electrocution at a private estate in Madikeri taluk on Wednesday. The tusker, believed to be a 43 years old, was found dead at the estate in Athimangala area of Nellihudikeri near Siddapura. The electrocution occurred due to an unauthorised connection of the solar fence, according to the authorities. The forest department filed a case and DCF Bhaskar and ACF Gopal from the Madikeri division, along with other officials, inspected the site. Dr Shindhe performed the postmortem, after which the elephant was buried near the forest boundary.
