CHMARAJANAGAR: During the early hours around 2.30 am on Thursday, a farmer was reportedly killed in a wild elephant attack near Kubbepur at Gundlupete Taluk in the district. Reportedly, a wild elephant had gone on a rampage in villages close to the Bandipur vicinity resulting in the death of a Shivapur farmer identified as Bella Shetty (65). The farmer and his son were guarding the harvest in their field when the wild elephant attacked the duo, it is learned. The Forest Department’s officer from the G.S. Hills jurisdiction, Naveen Kumar visited the incident site and conducted an inquiry.
