Troops under probe for disposing of elephant carcass on the sly Norman Palihawadana, The Island January 6, 2024 Army Commander Lt. General Lasantha Rodrigo yesterday (05) told The Island that an investigation had got underway into the death of an elephant last November due to an authorised power line in an Army detachment in the Omanthai area. Investigations have revealed that the soldiers deployed there had cut the elephant’s body into pieces and dropped them into a well. Lt. Gen.
