Forest dept begins ‘catch the trap’ drive to thwart hunting (Hyderabad) Ch Sushil Rao, Times of India December 2, 2023 To prevent poaching, killing and hunting of wild animals, the forest department on Friday launched a unique drive. As part of ‘catch the trap’ initiative, any person noticing illegal devices or materials used for hunting or coming to know of people who are killing wild animals can pass on information to district forest officers. According to a circular issued by MC Pargaien, principal chief conservator of forests (wildlife) and chief wildlife warden, one of the most widely used methods for killing or hunting of wild animals is by using devices like snares, traps, nets, live wire, poison and explosives.
