Forest authorities have arrested four individuals in Anthiyur for possession of illegal elephant tusks. Acting on a tip-off, officials intercepted a vehicle near the Gurunathaswamy temple area on Thursday. The occupants confessed to having buried four tusks near the temple tank, which were subsequently recovered by the officials. During the investigation, the detained men admitted to acquiring tusks from an individual and selling them at a premium price.
