Tusker dies of electrocution in Tarikere taluk The Hindu April 2, 2025 A 45-year-old tusker died of electrocution in a coffee estate near Tanigebailu in Tarikere taluk of Chikkamagaluru on Tuesday. Locals spotted the animal dead and informed the Forest Department officials. The officers of Tanigebailu Range of Bhadra Wildlife Division and the local police rushed to the spot. Sudhakar B., RFO of Tanigebailu Range, told The Hindu that the animal came in contact with the live wire of an electric pole and died. The officers conducted the post-mortem on Tuesday and disposed of the carcass.
